The Bold and the Beautiful (The SFG Story Part 2)

Mmkay. When we last left our heroine, she was in the restaurant with Apples, SFG, and SFG's newly reinstated boyfriend, Leandro.

Aaaaaand, action!

So, picture it. The table is rectangular. I'm sitting beside Apples and across from Leandro. SFG is sitting beside Leandro and across from Apples. Only thing is, SFG and Leandro are sitting farther apart than I sit from my brother, and, while all four of us are having a conversation, Leandro and SFG aren't really talking to each other. I'm not finding him to be an altogether reprehensible human being, though. He can carry a decent conversation and he's very good-looking. SFG could do worse, but the way she keeps peeking at me from over her slice says she wants to do better.

The waitress has apparently assumed that Apples and I are a couple and this is a double date or something, because she brings Leandro the check for him and SFG and brings me the check for me and Apples. We ain't trippin'. Apples and I ask her to separate our ticket, and Apples says what I'm thinking - that the chick must think we're together, so me being the me, I put my arm around Apples and she leans into me. We are laughing and clearly not serious, but a cloud comes over SFG's face at seeing this before she catches herself and looks away. The cloud returns, though, when she reaches over to take the bill from Leandro and proceeds to pay for both of their food with her card.

Aight. I'm not judging, but, you know...I'm judging. I'm all for a lady helping her (wo)man out, but damn! If you couldn't at least afford to feed yourself, why did you come? That's not a good look on the masculine party of the relationship. I don't know how y'all fem/fem couples square things, but if I'm out with my woman, I'm at least going to pay my own way. If I ain't got it, we'll just stay in for the el cheapo date. Not that she can't afford it - because CoCo has many more ends than I do - but I'm still old-fashioned when it comes to that.

But I digress.

We're all having such a good time that we decide to bounce down a couple of blocks to a place that SFG says has orgasmic deserts. I don't remember what Leandro was up to, but I'm walking behind SFG as we leave the first restaurant and shawty got hips for days. I open the door for her and she thanks me. We go over to her ride, and dude doesn't even open or close her door for her or help her put her stuff in the trunk. I'm judging a little more now.

We get to the desert spot, and the round tables are small as hell, but Apples is not sitting nearly as close to me as SFG is. She already knows what she wants - death by chocolate cake - yet she still proceeds to check out the menu while I'm checking it out. Mind you, I'm holding it right in front of me because she didn't need it, so SFG is leaning all the way into me to "read it," practically cheek to damn cheek. Like, seriously. Her breast is touching my arm. I shift and sit up a little straighter, then move the menu more towards her so that she doesn't have to be so close to me, yet she stays right where she is up against my side; only her eyes move, not that they were focused on the menu in the first place.

Don't get me wrong. I didn't mind her being close to me at all. What I minded was her being so disrespectful to her man with dude sitting right there. I mean, damn. If you don't like the guy that much, stop getting back with him. Plus, this cliche remains true: if she'll do it to him, she'll do it to you. It was exciting, yes, but it was also a bit of a turn-off. So why didn't I leave it alone, you ask? Well...because the part of me that thinks with my clit really wants to fuck her 'til she forgets Leandro exists.

It didn't stop there, though. It was a good wait for the cake, so we start up another conversation, and Leandro and SFG are telling us about their underclassmen friends from college and SF's new job. In the middle of Leandro talking about how he's not sure he trusts one of the college buddy's around his girl, I notice that SFG's leg is touching mine. Mind you, I was still trying to be good, so I moved my leg over a little to give her space just in case we were only touching because we were sitting so close together and not because she was coming on to me. Two points if you can guess what happened next:

Yep, she moved her leg back over so that it pressed up against mine even more than before. Then she offered me a piece of her chocolate cake, innuendos of all innuendos.

I declined the chocolate cake, mainly because I only eat/want chocolate when it's that time of  the month, and kept on talking  - mainly to Leandro, ironically - until we got to the topic of SF stressing out over not feeling like she could meet the demands of her new job. Leandro was absolutely not supportive. Now, I'm not judging him too much because he probably has to hear her talk about it everyday when she comes home from work, which is probably annoying as shit, but, damn. At least be on your girl's side in public. The Mr. Steal Your Girl in me kicked in at this point, and I put my hand over SFG's and looked her in the eyes, telling her to trust that, if the people who hired her thought she could do the job, then she had the right stuff to do it and do believe in herself.

Don't look at me like that. I was sincere. Not completely innocent, but sincere, nonetheless.

When the check comes...well the check comes. All of our charges are on the same check. SFG has already told Apples that she would treat her to dessert back at the first restaurant, but before I can tell the waiter to split my order from theirs and finish pulling my card out of my wallet, SFG hands the waiter her card and pays for all of us. Now, mama didn't raise no fools. I told her she didn't have to do that, but I also said 'thank you' and kept it moving.  If your girl is going to spend her money on me (that cake wasn't cheap) in front of you, is it my responsibility to refuse, your responsibility to check her, or a little bit of both?

  1. Dang homegirl was mad disrespectful. I don't care how much you've fallen out of love/like, if you're still with that person, you should respect them.

I will say that you were definitely not helping the situation by being all suave on the chick. However, as long as you know the rule of "she did it to him, she'll do it to me", all is well.

You told her that she didn't have to, so that was enough on your end. I'm quite sure homeboy checked her in private about that. She did herb him pretty tough in front of you and Apples.

  2. Come on now! Being all suave on the chick = being me. I'm just naturally smooth, homes; I can't help it. I don't usually do it on purpose. She didn't have to be all receptive on me, either. Mama didn't raise no fool, though. I know what's up.

She was wrong as hell, but he herbed himself by being a scrub. If he was stepping up as a man (he has two jobs, so who knows where his money goes), it wouldn't've been possible for her to pay for my dessert.
